Taking over the Tampa Bay JCs before the 1980 season, Ken Carrano operated the team as the Scranton Voices from 1980-85,
and then moved the team to Etobicoke, the western portion of the city of Ontario, Canada, for the 1986 season after attending
a soccer game there. The team is called the Voices because of Ken's radio-announcer-like voice, and it is in the DNFL bylaws
that the team cannot be called the Etobicoke Spoons. When the Coca-Cola slogan was "Coke Is It" a few years ago, sometimes the
team was called "Etobicoke Is It."
Under Ken in his first year, Scranton played in the first DNFL Bowl that went to a tiebreaker, 1980's 22-22 tie between
Madison and Scranton, which Scranton lost on the tiebreaker. Ken later proposed and got passed a rule that if an owner did
not attend the draft and did not send in draft choices ahead of time, his team could not be drafted for and could not participate
in the draft. The only guy to ever have this rule invoked against him was Ken, who missed the 1988 draft. However, he got his
revenge later that year as the Voices won the DNFL Bowl.
Between Len's passing and the 2003 draft, Ken was Acting Commissioner. He currently is DNFL Treasurer.
Ken is part of the group that got the 2005 Best Argument Award over whether Cub fans should have rooted for the White Sox
in the World Series. He has been Owner of the Year and Webmaster of the Year.
